The new Alberge has got the most modern and comfortable facilities of all the shelters along the Camino trail.<\/p>\n
Our Alberge has got a total of 169 beds (139 in the new building and 30 in the old one) distributed into 8 new and 3 old dormitories, fully equipped roomy kitchen, hitting system in all rooms, dining room for 80 persons seated 4 at a table. Bathrooms and showers with warm water, room and toilets for disabled, reading room, lift, backup generator in case of blackouts, a 10 bunk beds room exclusively for snorers and possibility of using washing machines and dryers situated just in front of the shelter, a sanctuary (daily international prayer at 7 p.m.) etc…<\/p>\n
The building was constructed without architectural barriers and it can be accessed by disabled.\u00a0 There is a room with 3 beds and adapted bathroom exclusively for disabled persons.\u00a0 Outside of the building there is a nice garden with wooden tables where pilgrims can enjoy their snacks and talks. The garden may also be used for washing clothes having a washing place with sinks and hangers and also for keeping bikes.<\/p>\n
The Alberge has also got a room with 4 computers connected to internet, Wi-Fi, vending machines, soft drinks and coffee.\u00a0 There is an isolated room for the shoes and space for parking bikes.<\/p>\n
As the shelter is situated in the center of Santo Domingo de la Calzada there are services close by such as:<\/p>\n
Post office, bars and restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy, food shops, clothes and shoes shops, the Cathedral and the chapel \u00a8 Virgen de la Plaza\u00a8 (with daily mass and blessings for the pilgrims) etc.<\/p>\n
